IAR continuing education requirements by state
As of Oct 5, 2026, IAR CE is in effect in 24 jurisdictions and adopted in 1 more, according to NASAA's map; each requires 12 credits of IAR CE per year, including 6 Ethics and Professional Responsibility (at least 3 on ethics) and 6 Products and Practice, due December 31.

How the rule works
- Only in adopting states. Dual registrants may use FINRA Regulatory Element CE for the 6 Products and Practice credits. New registrants have no requirement until January 1 of the following year. A missed year renews as CE inactive.
