## Facts

- Inputs asked: Client list: one household per line, a name and a balance (up to 500); Fee schedule: up to 4 bands, each with a top balance and a yearly rate, plus a rate for balances above the last band; Method: tiered (each rate applies only to the dollars in its band) or whole-account (the band's rate applies to every dollar); Minimum yearly fee per household (optional); Flat fee per household per year
- Method: Each client line is a name and a balance. The balance is the last amount on the line: 850,000, $850k and 1.2M all work.; Tiered schedule: each rate applies only to the dollars inside its band. On a schedule of 1.00% up to $1,000,000 and 0.80% above, a $2,000,000 balance pays $10,000 + $8,000 = $18,000.; Whole-account schedule: the rate of the band the balance reaches applies to every dollar. A balance equal to the top of a band stays in that band.; If you enter a minimum yearly fee per household, a household pays the larger of its schedule fee and the minimum.; The flat fee is the same for every household.; Revenue is for one year on the balances you enter. It ignores market moves, new and lost clients, discounts, billing timing and partial years.; Break-even (tiered schedules only): the balance at which the schedule's fee equals the flat fee. Under a whole-account schedule a larger balance can pay less than a smaller one, so no single break-even exists.; Nothing you enter is stored or shared.
- Defaults note: The starting schedule, clients and flat fee are examples to replace with your own. They are not benchmarks.
- Reference points: Advisors who charge on assets reported average fees of about 104 basis points on a $750,000 account and about 88 on a $1.5 million account.; In a 2026 survey of 491 advisors, the average planning retainer was $6,815, the average flat fee $2,926, and the average AUM bundled fee 0.96%.; Form ADV Part 2A Item 5 requires you to describe how you are paid, provide your fee schedule and say whether fees are negotiable.
